About the Center

A Coptic Orthodox Church center affiliated with the Coptic Orthodox Church

Location: St. Mary & St. Joseph the Carpenter Church, Ezbet El Nakhl

Established: October 2024 with prayers of Pope Tawadros II

Under patronage: Anba Sidarous, Bishop of Ezbet El Nakhl & El Marg

Vision

Establishing a contemporary patristic church servant in a systematic and scientific manner to respond to various faith questions that lead the congregation to doubt

Mission

Forming new cadres of servants who are faithful, competent, and ready to respond and answer everyone who asks

Center Objectives

  • • Helping the congregation of various age groups from the current atheist trend
  • • Responding to every attempt to doubt the Christian faith
  • • Studying defensive theology and faith issues
  • • Covering fields: Scientific - Patristic - Spiritual - Historical - Philosophical - Biblical - Humanitarian

Study System

Two years (four terms) followed by group practical training

  • The academic year is divided into two terms followed by an exam
  • Study on Mondays every week: two lectures with a break
  • From 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

  • Pope Shenouda III Hall and Anba Abram Hall.

  • Lecture system and interactive workshops
  • First Term: First week of September to second week of December
  • Second Term: Week following Epiphany to first week of April
  • Mid-year vacation: Five weeks
  • Easter vacation: From Good Friday to the week following EasterToggle Content

Assessment & Graduation

Attendance Rate: Not less than 70%

Passing Rate: 50% includes:

  • Absence: More than 6 times consecutive or separate = exam deprivation and repeating the year
  • Written exam
  • Research work
  • Book summaries
  • Assignments
  • Workshops
  • Year work (absence & attendance)
  • Graduation: Certified diploma from the center and church in Defensive Theology
  • Graduation Project: Research project in second year under center professors' supervision (mandatory for graduation)

Admission Requirements

  • ✅ Acceptance for both genders
  • ✅ University degree or any church certificate
  • ✅ Age: 20 to 55 years
  • ✅ Passing written, oral admission tests and personal interview

Required Documents

  • 📄 Copy of university degree or church certificate
  • 📄 Recommendation from confession father
  • 📄 Copy of national ID card
  • 📄 Personal photo (1)
  • 💰 Subscription fee: 150 EGP for first term (variable by year)

Application Steps

  • 1. Form Collection: First of June at center location (Karoz Institute office near Akalil office) from 6 PM to 9 PM
  • 2. Form Submission: Until required number is completed
  • 3. Personal Interview & Exam: Saturday in Pope Shenouda Hall
